Katelyn Metzger scored her 1,000 point Monson High School's Katelyn Metzger scores her 1,000th career point Tuesday night in a 67-14 win over Westfield Voke in the first round of the Western Mass Division III State tournmanet. Metzger, needing just 3 points to reach 1,000, scored two baskets half way through the first quarter. In her milestone making basket, Metzger caught the pass, dribbled once and laid it up for her 1,000 and 1,001 career points. Metzger joins an elite club as just the third Mustang to reach the 1,000 point milestone.
Metzger and the Mustangs will host No. 6 Smith Academy Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
