A week after Woburn Senior Mickel Simpson scored his 1,000th point of his high school career, the 6'4" point guard has committed to play basketball for Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
Trinity plays in the the NESCAC (New England Small College Athletic Conference), which is one of the best Division III conferences in the country for both academics and basketball.
Simpson, our # 27 ranked senior in Massachusetts, has great size and athleticism. During this past AAU season with the Rivals Basketball Club, we saw Simpson take the ball down the lane for an impressive dunk, and then a couple of minutes later, he stuck a pretty looking long range three. Simpson had an excellent senior campaign for Woburn high school as well showing that there is no doubt that his offensive capability is superb and that his length and athleticism will make him a great on the ball defender at the next level.
Milford's Mike O'Loughlin, who is our #4 ranked senior in the NH Class of 2011 along with fellow Granite State Jayhawks AAU teammate Steve Spirou (Pelham) , who is our #6 ranked NH senior, have also committed to attend Trinity next Spring.
The addition of these three athletes gives Coach Cosgrove and Trinity not just a good recruiting class, but a great one. All three of these young men were potential division 2 scholarhip athletes.
