The MA & NH Recruiting Report's #1 ranked Massachusetts senior girl committed to Mississippi State this week signing her letter of intent to attend the SEC school.
In our earlier evaluation of Khadijah Ellison, we called her one of the most gifted players we have seen in this area in a long time. Ellison is a high flying guard with extreme athleticism who we've seen dunk the basketball. She is a very good shooter from the outside but is equally as good at attacking the rim and finishing. She has very long arms and a great set of hands which allows her to be a good defender. Ellison was followed around the country this past summer by some of the biggest schools and biggest names in girls basketball including Connecticut's Geno Auriemma.
The 5-foot-8 senior guard averaged more than 25 points in leading Burke to a 17-4 record last season and the Division 3 South sectional quarterfinals. Ellison took an official trip to Temple University in Philadelphia before deciding on Mississippi State. Quoted in the Boston Herald, Ellison said that “I liked the girls. I talked to the players to see how things were [at Mississippi State],” Ellison said of her visit. “I love everything about it.” The Bulldogs posted a 21-12 record last year and made it to the Sweet 16 of the women’s NCAA Tournament.
