Andover pulled out a 55-52 win over three-time defending champion Central Catholic. The loss, was the first of the season for our #2 rated team. Senior Joe Bramanti led the way with 20 points before fouling out with slightly over 2:00 minutes remaining. Andover sophomore Sam Dowden scored the go ahead and winning basket and then rebounded a Jimmy Zenevitch miss to seal the victory.
Andover (4-1) will battle undefeated North Andover (5-0) in the tourney finals Thursday night at 8:00 p.m.. North Andover advanced to the finals with a win over Greater Lawrence Tech. With the game tied at 29-29 in the third quarter, sophomore Derek Collins hit 3-pointers from each corner on consecutive possessions to give the Scarlet Knights a 6-point lead it would never surrender. Collins finished with 18 points on the evening and junior Zach Karalis finished with 23 points.

In the 2010 LASKA Yuletide Invitational Tournament at Assumption College, St. John's Shrewsbury defeated Saint Peter Marian yesterday behind 25 points from senior Matt Harrington. Ryan Stowe had 16 points, Wil Michalski had 11 points, and Matt Kneece added 10 as Shrewsbury defeated Wachusett 60 -45 to set up tonight's match up between the #1 and #2 teams in Central Mass. The game will tip-off tonight at 8:00 p.m. at Assumption College.
