Boston Herald Dream Teamer Marco Coppola is heading to WPI in the fall. The 6-foot guard averaged more than 26 points a game in leading Watertown to a Division 3 North and EMass title. The MVP of the Middlesex League, the two-time All-Scholastic finished his career with more than 1,000 points.
The MA & NH High School Basketball Report visited Watertown High School late in the high school season to watch Watertown and Coppola take on Burlington High School. Coppola dominated that game with 29 points as he had nine points in the first 3:30 of the game as he hit two long range threes and added an old fashion one as Watertown pulled away early. Coppola is a talented guard that knows how to win and can shoot the ball from long-long range. He has extended range and can knock down the long ball from beyond the NBA Stripe.
Coppola and Acton-Boxborough guard Sam Longwell give coach Chris Bartley and WPI two top notch guards.
