The following is the updated rankings for the class of 2012.
1. Jane White (5’6”, Souhegan High School) – White is a dynamic point guard who thrives in an uptempo game and plays the game with great intensity. White has a great feel for the game which she uses as a point guard. For a point guard she has a great knack for scoring as she can score from just about anywhere on the floor. She can knock down shots from beyond the arc and has the speed and athleticism to blow by defenders. White also competes and is an excellent defender.
2. Allie Mahan (5’8", Dover High School) – Mahan is a savvy point guard who possesses a great shooting touch from the outside. Mahan has very good speed which makes her very tough to guard in the open court. When she does get in the open court, she is an exceptional play maker and a great finisher. Mahan is also a tough defender and plays with much intensity.
3. Ashley Clough (5’11", Keene High School) – Clough is a combo forward who can play every position on the floor. She has very good size for a forward which allows her to post up defenders. Clough is also skilled enough to beat defenders off the dribble from the perimeter and is an exceptional 3 point shooter who has extended range. This makes her a very tough guard. As a result, she is capable of scoring in bunches. Clough needs to continue to progress as a wing player.
4. Kerry White (5’11”, Windham High School) - White is a hard nose forward who has made great strides in her game over the last year. Primarily known as a solid rebounder and defender and a back to the basket player, White has demonstrated over this last period that she can face up to the basket and make plays as she has a quick first step for a player of her size. White is very strong and is great at gaining position in the low post. White plays extremely hard and with a purpose. If she continues to get better she has potential to be the top player in the class.
5. Katie Prothro (5'9”, Bedford High School) - Prothro is a 5’9” athletic combo guard who seems to flourish in transition. Prothro has great speed which she uses to get up the floor often outrunning her opponents for easy layups. She also has both a solid handle and outside shot. Prothro has great length and as a results gets her hands on a lot of balls on the defensive end. We also like that the talented guard is not afraid to mix it up underneath.
