Star Point Guard Makes College Choice
Nashua South senior Jake Nelson has committed to continue his education and basketball career at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. The 5'11" point guard has been on WPI's radar for over a year, and at one point he was on the top of the school's "wish list" for the class of 2010.
Nelson will be a great asset to WPI. He is a pure point guard who flat out makes his teammates better. He is very strong for a 5'11" kid, defends the basketball extremely well and is exceptional at finding the open man in transition. Nelson is a good leader and does everything you could ask of a point guard.
WPI is a very good school, and has one of the area's best Division-III basketball programs. This past season they wnet 21-6 and and advanced to the second round of the NCAA D-III Tournament. Nelson will join fellow NH residents Ben Etten (Hollis-Brookline) and Matt Carr (St. Thomas Aquinas) on the WPI roster.
