Mass Class of 2013 Updated Winter Rankings

Noah Vonleh Is #1 In Mass Class of 2013

The Sophomore Class is the most talented boys class in Massachusetts. It is deep and talented. Below is a look at our top five players in the class.

First of all, this class has the most talented player in Massachusetts high school basketball in Noah Vonleh, who has quickly become the most recognized name in New England High School basketball. The 6’7” point forward continues to improve every time we see him. He has a combination of size, skill, and athleticism that are all of the charts and he plays the game above the rim. Vonleh plays all five positions on the basketball court and often leaves his opponent staggering from his dribble moves. He can make the three, hit the pull-up, and we’ve seen him dunk on top of his opponent on several occasions this season. It is unusual to get high major division 1 scholarship offers as a sophomore, but Vonleh already has offfers from the likes of Pittsburgh and Boston College. Added to that, Vonleh is currently ranked #23 in ESPN’s top sophomores in the country. Vonleh is joined by division 1 prospect Jacquil Taylor. Taylor is 6’9” and long and is already a game changer on the defensive end of the floor. Taylor’s game has also improved significantly at the offensive end of the floor as he has he has shown us a nice touch from 10 feet in. Taylor also has solidified himself as a division 1 college player and has been offered a division 1 scholarship by UMass Amherst. Jared Terell has an athletic and long body that does not quit. He is strong with the basketball and is effective slashing to the basket, and he has an impressive pull-up that rises way above the crowd. Most impressive about Terell is the way he attacks the basket in transition as he finishes way above the rim with thunderous dunks. Nate Anderson is still a work in progress, but he’s 6’6”, athletic, and he has a great motor. Anderson has shown improvement this year and we expect his stock to continue to rise. Derek Collins is the most impressive scorer of the basketball in the sophomore class, less Vonleh, that we’ve seen in high school basketball. Collins can score the basketball from behind the arc as well as anybody in the state, he has a great looking pull-up, and can get to the rim off the dribble and can finish acrobatically around the rim. His game is very much suited for college already.
