Liz Pettis Scored 30 Points in victoryBehind a 30-point performance by junior guard Liz Pettis, the Cougars blew out defending champion Conant 51-29 in a rematch of last year’s Class M title game. Campbell took control early in this one as they jumped out to an early 20 - 7 lead behind 15 first quarter points by Pettis. Pettis’ 15-point first quarter barrage included three 3-pointers. She would also grab a team-high 10 rebounds.
Things would get worse for Conant as the lead would skyrocket to 28-7 early in the second quarter. Conant would make a couple of runs, but the early Cougars barrage was too much for the defending Class M champs to overcome.
Defensively, Campbell held Southern New Hampshire University bound guard Brooke Springfield (our #3 ranked player) to just 10 points on the evening. Both teams are now 7 - 1 and will meet up again on February 4th in Jaffrey.
