Katie Cullerot, our #6 senior in New Hampshire scored her 1,000 points last night in John Stark's High School 58-23 victory over Pembroke. Cullerot needed just over five minutes to become the third John Stark girls' basketball player to reach 1,000 points.

Cullerot, who will be taking her talents to Assumption College on scholarship, is an excellent shooter who has no problem knocking down shots beyond the arc. Cullerot plays the game hard and with a purpose and has a very high basketball IQ.

Cullerot ended the suspense early. She got the Generals' first points of the game when she took the ball at the corner, drove around the defender along the baseline and was fouled on the layup. Her two free throws put her within one shot of the mark. Still in the first quarter, Cullerot again drove along the baseline and attacked under the basket. This time, the shot fell, drawing a large roar from the crowd and forcing an in-game ceremony. "I didn't want to have to worry about it," Culllerot said. "I knew a lot of people were amped up about it. It was nice to get it over with and play the game. I wasn't even thinking about it when I was making that move. I just went for it, it went in, and everyone was cheering. It was really nice."
