Andover Girls Get Round II Against Central

Nicole Boudreau Came Up With Big Steal Last Night

Last night at Andover High School our #1 and #2 Mass girls teams met for the second time this year, and Andover won the second straight close contest against Central Catholic 53-52 as our #1 rated junior in Nicole Boudreau came up with a steal with 10 seconds left in the game. Our #16 Sophomore Devon Caveney was the hero as she broke a 50-50 tie with a three-pointer with just over a minute to play. Caveney finished with a game high 22 points for Andover. Boudreau finished with 17 points.

For Central Catholic, our #13 ranked senior Melissa Miller who will be attending Merrimack College in the fall led the Raider's with 18 points and 16 rebounds. Our #4 ranked sophomore Casey McLaughlin added 13 points.

Andover trailed 16-8 entering the second quarter but went on a 10-0 run over the first 2:30 to take an 18-16 lead. Caveney netted a 3-pointer from the top of the key and drove for a layup. Meanwhile, Boudreau hit a 3-pointer from way downtown. Central responded and went into the half up four points 26-22. Andover would win the third quarter 19-14 and would take a one point advantage into the fourth. Both teams would score 12 points in the final frame and Andover would walk away with a 1 point win.
