Cetral Catholic-Andover Matchup Attracts Sell Out

Carson Desrosiers Dunks One Home

The MA-NH High School Basketball Report saw High School basketball at its best last night as a sold out crowd of 1200 people visted Andover High School to watch the #1 ranked an undefeated (7 - 0) Central Catholic High School with Wake Forest bound Carson Desrosiers take on # 16 Warriors. The word was that over 200 people got turned away at the door as fire code would not allow any further admissions. Inside, it was extremely loud and felt very much like a college game atmosphere. At one point in the fourth quarter it got so loud that you could feel the Andover gymnasium shaking as Central attempted free throws. For those athletes who played and for those spectators that were fortunate enough to get through the doors it was surely an experience they will remember as the years go by.

In the end, Central held on for a 65 - 58 decision. Junior Jimmy Zenevitch had a game high 24 points (18 in the second half). The story though was Desrosiers who was a force on both ends of he court. He took over the game scoring 14 points, grabbing 17 rebounds, blocking 8 shots, while adding 7 assists. Watching the game, it was clear that the 6'11" Desrosiers has become the facilitator on the offensive end for Central and in many ways the big man acts as their point guard. During the second half Desrosiers fed Zenevitch four different times for easy conversions. For Andover, junior Joe Bramanti led Andover with 18 points.
