Some More Notables from MA & NH Girls Showcase

Other Notables from the MA & NH High School Girls Showcase include the following

Aliza Simpson (5'9", freshman, Londonderry, NH) - Simpson has great size for a freshman.  She has excellent court vision and basketball instinct and is at her best when she is scoring off transition.

Courtney Walsh (5'7", freshman, Central Catholic, MA)  - Walsh is a strong combo guard who has nice touch from inside the arc.  She does well penetrating to basket and finding open teammates.

Asia Mitchell (5'8", sophomore, Oliver Ames, MA) - Mitchell is a complete player who competes on both ends of the floor. She showed us she can get to the rim and can both finish or find open teammates. Mictchell can also make shots from the outside.

Jaminnette Marquez (5'5", junior, Dracut, MA) - Marquez is a natural point guard but can also play shooting guard position as well. Marquez used nifty moves to create contact and separation off the dribble. Marquez can get to the rim and finish but also has excellent basketball instinct and always made the correct basketball play.

Yvonne Dean-Bailey (5'11", sophomore, Portsmouth Christian Academy, NH) - Dean-Bailey is a physical and strong girl on the post who is very good at rebounding and scoring off put backs. She knows where the open gaps are and finds them scoring frequently in the post.

Indira Evora (sophomore, Somerville, MA) - Evora is a point guard that is a coach’s dream. A vocal leader on the floor, who gets after it on both ends. Evora shined at the showcase as she was an excellent play maker who sees the floor extremely well.  Evora also has a great first step allowed her to attack and create.

Kaley Marston (5'8", junior, Tilton School, NH) - Marston is a talented guard who competed at both ends of the floor during the showcase.  On the offensive end, we saw her get to the hole and finish on several occasions as she is very creative off the dribble.  Marston also moves quickly on the defensive end an is able to put plenty of pressure on her opponents.

Rachel Collins (5'7", freshman, Bedford, NH) - Collins has game and loves the shot fake and pull up inside the arc. She moves well without the basketball and has a very quick release, with the ball often finding the bottom of the net.  Her ability to make open shots opens up the floor for her teammates.

Samantha Hyslip (6'0", freshman, Westford Academy, MA) - Hyslip is a combination forward/guard who loves to post up smaller defenders but can also go by the bigger girls because of her outside game.

Nicole Femino (5'9", freshman, Masconomet, MA) - Femino is a very good small forward who plays guard a lot. She was successful at attacking the hoop and finishing during the showcase. She has nice touch from midrange and is deadly when she gets inside the paint.

Caitlyn King (5'8", sophomore, Amesbury, MA) - King played hard at both ends of the floor.  She has a very quick first step and thus is able to get to the rim off the dribble.  She also showed us a consistent jump shot during the event and a nice turn-around jump shot.

Amanda Williams (5'11", freshman, Central Catholic, MA) - Williams is a very good post player. She is an athletic girl who can finish consistently around the rim. She got many baskets at the showcase off of hard earned put-backs.  Williams also runs the lane well, and can find her teammates in transition.

Taylor Johnson (5'6", freshman, Hartford H.S., VT)- Johnson is a shooting guard who has extended range. She is a spot up shooter who loves to catch and shoot from the three point line. We also saw Johnson attacking the basket and making the short pull-ups.

Shannon Maguire - Maguire knows how to get open as she comes off screens well, and has great footwork setting her self up for a scoring opportunity. She also has a quick release and strokes it well from behind the arc.

Ginelle Cola (5'7", junior, Lowell, MA) - Cola is a very athletic guard who is active on both the offense and defense ends of the court.   Cola has a good handle and can get into the paint where she makes good decisions with the basketball.  She also plays tireless defense on her opponents.

Markey Flewelling (5'7", junior, Portsmouth H.S., NH) - Flewelling is strong and  athletic combo-guard with an excellent handle and a quick first step which allows her to beat her opponent off the dribble.  Flewelling also uses her strength and athleticsm to score in traffic. 

Ashley Lutz (6'0", sophomore, Lincoln Sudbury, MA) -Lutz has a smooth shot and can knock it down from long range even with a hand in her face. Lutz is also very good at getting to hoop as she knows how to use her body to secure the basketball.

Valerie Martin (5'11", 8th grader, Gilbert Hood Middle School) - Martin's ability to run the floor with great athleticism allows her to produce large amounts of her points in short amounts of time.

Savannah Butterfield (5'11", junior, Londonderry, NH) - Butterfield is a quick and aggressive combo guard/forward who is able to finish shots.  Butterfield was likely the  most athletic player at the showcase. Can do it all- post up, or hit the midrange jumper.  Defensively, Butterfield alters shots, rebounds and prides herself on drawing the charge.

Sarah Middleton (5'0", 8th grader, Barrington Middle School, RI) - What Middleton lacks in size she makes up for with her high basketball I.Q. Has great vision and unbelievable feel for the game.

Natatlie Leone (5'9", sophomore, Ashland, MA) - Leone is a slasher who can get to hoop from all spots on the floor. We saw Leone weave in and out of traffic creating easy hoops or opportunities for her teammates. She can play both inside and out and demonstrated a high basketball I.Q.

Megan Cleary (5’10”, sophomore, Central Catholic, MA) -  Cleary showed great footwork around the basket who had some really nice finishes.

Michelle Poole (5'11", sophomore, Tilton Academy, NH) - Poole is a rough interior player who thrives off of contact. She rebounds very well and has a soft touch on her put backs. Poole can also step back and knock down the shot.

Cierra Dillon (5'6", 8th grader, Brookline, MA) - An 8th grader, but sure doesn’t play like one. Great basketball body, physical on offense and defense. Dillon has excellent rotation on her shot and is going to be a player to follow in the years to come.

Cat Costello (5'7", junior, Lexington, MA) - Costello showed her ability to stroke the basketball from the perimeter, including a nice looking pull-up jump shot.

Saliah Surette (5'11", sophomore, Weston, MA) - Surette's  best days are ahead of her. She is an athletic forward that has a great upside. She plays with passion and has great first step.  She has a knack for knowing where ball is going when it comes off the rim.

Caroline Hamilton (5'6", junior, Greely H.S., ME) - Hamilton is a talented guard who has great understanding of the game and plays with a calm intensity.  She is a floor general who runs her team, but clearly has the ability to also knock down shots.

Meaghan Doiron (5'8", sophomore, Gardner, MA)- Doiron is a  wing player who can do a little of everything. She can get to the rim in a variety of ways and is strong enough to finish with contact.

Jess Gorman (5'6", sophomore, Norwood, MA) - Gorman is a very athletic guard. She knocked down open shots during the event, but her strengths are attacking basket in both transition and half court sets.

Erin Marshall (5'8", junior, Woburn, MA)- Marshall is a good defender who works extremely hard. She is very athletic and has a great first step.  She really knows how to play the game.

Jorden Mitchell (5'11", junior, Marshwood H.S, Berwick, ME) - Mitchell is a hard worker who has a soft touch around the rim. She was consistent in the fact that she always seemed to finish when she got the ball in down low in a position to score.

McKenzie Brown (6'1", freshman, Bedford, NH) - Brown can run the floor extremely well and consistently finishes around the basket.  She is already becoming dominant in the paint.

Erica Hadad (6'1", 8th grade, Salem, NH) - Hadad is  8th grader who is tall and long. She handles the basketball extremely well for someone of her length and size.  Sh enjoys dribbling the ball up the court and leading the transition. Added to that, Hadad has soft touch around the rim and can step out and hit the three.

Arma Elezovic (5'11", junior, Manchester Memorial, NH)- Elezovic can lead transition with the dribble. Her good size makes her a multi-role player. She can play like a post, take her opponent to the rim and finish, and also pull up for the 15 ft jump shot.

Sara Roy (5'4", junior, Nashua South, NH) - Roy is a guard who showed she can get to the rim using a  multitude of different moves. She is excellent at creating opportunities and finishing. She also a series of great jabs and shot fakes that get her into the lane and in position to score.

Brianna Neely (5'10", junior, Brewster Academy, NH) - Neely is a strong forward who showed she can control the game on the glass. She also finishes well around the rim as she has a soft touch.
